[Europe Trip] Day 11 - Jungfrau

It was 6am, the moon was still hanging in the sky. We went to the Wengen station to purchase the tickets up to Jungfrau.

Note:
1. It is important to purchase railpasses, in our case the Swiss half fare card, as soon as you reach Switzerland. Unless your transport tickets were purchased beforehand (i.e. our Munich to Wengen tickets), you can use the railpasses to travel at discounted rate. After doing some calculations based on the trips we might make (using SBB website), we figured that the Swiss half fare card suited our needs the best.
2. The sbb train fare don't change, you can use the website to do calculations for your travel expenses in Switzerland. For Bahn intercity and international trips, it is best to purchase as soon as possible, as the tickets would become more expensive (in general, unless there's promotions)
3. The Swiss half fare card can be used to purchase Jungfrau railway passes at half price. If you are going to Jungfrau, it is worth considering the card.
4. It is recommended to purchase the tickets up to Jungfrau as early as possible, if you are buying it on the day itself like us (we were concerned about the weather).
5. The train conductors in Switzerland check your tickets countless times, have your passes and tickets ready.
6. It would be increasingly cold as the train ascend, thus, be prepared to wear your coldwear.
7. There would be stops for toilet breaks and views, but you might lose your seats once you stand up.
8. There's a lot of South Koreans and Chinese tourists (and tours) at Jungfrau.
9. Bring your own drink and food. Meals would be expensive.
10. Jungfrau is cold in the morning, but could be hot during noon if you are outside in the sun for some snowsports. You could suffer sunburn, so wear your suncreen.

Look who we found!

Outdoor and snow sports

we played flying fox, i built my first ever snowman(?) and even see a helicopter up close! It was much colder inside as compared to outside.

After Jungfrau, we went Grindelwald in hope to take the cable car. But it was raining heavily, so we discarded our plan.

Nevertheless, the views of the towns along the way and Wengen after the rain were so different and enchanting.
