[Europe Trip] Day 9 - Munich (Residenz Munchen, Englischer Garten)

2nd August 2015 (Sunday)

It turned out to be the best day in Munich.

Residenz Munchen and Englischer Garten are very near each other. And the cultural atmosphere of the two places were so good. It was away from Munich Hbf and Marienplatz where there's lots of people and smokers.

We took bahn to Odeonsplatz. On the way to Residenz Munchen, we saw outdoor beer hall, musicians and Hofgarten along the way.

We paid 7 euros and only visited the Residenz Museum which has 130 rooms and 10 courtyards. It was a huge maze, but albeit a little stuffy. My friend was not feeling well (I passed on my virus) and we ended up taking the short cut. It was still very grand nevertheless.

Next we walked to Englischer Garten. The first view that welcomed us was a naked man. Yes, it is a nudist garden, but i don't think he was supposed to be at the entrance. XD

The natural scenery was so nice, and we bought ice cream (lemon sorbert) from a handsome young chap along the way. He did not lose his cool when a kid knocked down all his spoons, that I applauded him, but it also made me realize he put his spoons back into the cup and use them immediately... so we never took the spoons.

Beer halls in the garten also!

We sat and relaxed ourselves along the Kleinhesseloher See. We wanted to try the water sports but the queue was too long. And the Garten was too huge to walk. so we made our way back after it.
It was a really nice place, highly recommended if you are going to Munich.
